African Mahogany, Walnut, Cocobolo. Wilkenson hardware, GFS pickups. Plastic binding, abalone fret dots and knob tops. I usually leave the last two fret dots off so it looks less busy. Dan |

My wife ordered a bunch binding through Amazon. It was shipped from China. The seller may be Kissmee. I ended up with a box of assorted binding, about 15 strips. The pickups are from Guitar Fetish. I think they sound pretty good, although my hearing is bad. Sound's like someone is always blowing a whistle. These are the Nashville series. I did not measure the impedance, but they are not overwound hot. I got them on sale for around $40 for the set. I put these on an Explorer a couple of years ago, so I got another set. Rock on! Dan |

Thanks Alan! I'm shipping them Monday. I love the twangy sound of Tele pickups! Every time I make one for myself, I end up giving it away. I've made 6, and still don't have one. My next build will be an SG style with P90 pups and a Bigsby vibrato. I have collected all of the materials and parts, just need time. |

She's a beauty Dan, very well done! Makes me wanna pick it up and break into Proud Mary....  Here's a repair guy trick for you to help deal with the shallow break angle of the G string on Fender style designs. As you can see the G string has very little break angle over the nut and this has been a problem for Strats and Teles for all of time unless they have a second string tree. What works very well is to wind nearly the entire length of the G string as it comes out of the package onto the tuner. More winds on the tuner post bring the string down closer to the peg head head plate and that increases the break angle of the G string. Nice work Dan! |

Nice build Dan. I like the neck joint as well. The tuning machines look like they are shorter the further they are from the nut, eliminating the need for long string winds? |
