So my dumb butt never did a Google search to see if there were any hardwood lumber yards near me since the guitar bug has bitten me.

Today I did one... Low and behold there is one about 12 miles from the house and they have some bargains too!

I walked out with 16" W x 66" L x 2-1/8" Thick rough Ambrosia Maple which is the equivalent of 3 guitar blanks for the whopping price of.... drum roll please....

$28

Get this... because the cabinet makers don't like it or use it, they throw the curly maple stuff to the side and try to cut it out. My eyes got really big and I said "DO WHAT?!@?##@?! LOL.. I asked them to call me any time they run into anything curly and to please cut it 16" x 22". I will drive down right away and buy it.

Nice find. I've been going to the Wood Yard in Concord, GA. South of Atlanta. What's the name of it? I see a road trip in my future.

So when I picked up the wood, one of the guys back in the warehouse was fussing because the sales guy let me purchase 66" of wood and it left them with less than an 8ft piece of wood. So I just went ahead and bought the whole 12ft piece of wormy maple for $72. The piece ended up being 2" X 14" x 12' which should be enough for a few bodies and necks :D

I wish I could find a lumbar yard near where I live. I've Googled and looks like nothing close by.

Go ahead and check you local lumber yards... One of them certainly supplies the local cabinet makers with hardwood.
