Post subject: | Shielding conductive paint source in uk/germany? |
Can anyone recommend a shielding paint source on this side of the ocean? I see stewmac sells it but it doesn't seem economical (or environmentally friendly) to keep shipping it over here. There's lots of options on ebay but they are overpriced and suited for people doing only 1-2 guitars... |

Might try contacting Melvyn Hiscock who lives in the UK. The back of his book "Make Your Own Electric Guitar" has a list of suppliers world wide. PM me if you need Hiscock's contact information. The other option is to find a local builder who might share his supplies - I have found the lutherie community to be very helpful. |

Yeah those paint type shielding materials are a little pricey, I use aluminum foil and wood glue to make a faraday cage if this is what your doing. It's less expensive and works better than the paint on material, just check for continuity when your finished |

MG Chemicals has several distributors in Europe, and their nickel shielding paint is my favorite choice of materials hands down. |
