Quicky question - on a 25 1/2" scale neck, what's the disctance from the neck to the mounting holes for an American Standard bridge?

That doesn't work. That's my first go-to place, but their measurements go to where the 6-hole mounting holes would be, not the three-holes of the flat mount.

I measure from the nut to the saddles, add .06" to the high E side, add .12" to the low E side.
The .06" and .12" are added to the scale length, after measuring from nut to fret 12 and multiplying by 2 to find the exact scale length.

That works great if you have the bridge in hand, and the guitar is ready for install. This is a design for someone else, and they don't have the bridge. I'm just supplying a drawing.

It just so happens I worked on an American Standard Strat yesterday and made some quick measurements for you. From the edge of the nut to the centerline of the 2 posts is 25.25 inches. Easy peasy.

I appreciate that, but this is a hard-tail American Standard, not a trem.

Oh. My bad.
Need to read a little closer.

You're drawing should indicate that the scale-length is measured from the edge of the nut slot (on the frets side) to the center of the 1st string saddle.

Is he using an authentic Fender bridge or aftermarket? Top load or string-thru?

It's actually for Babicz flat-mount, which has the same footprint as the American Standard, string-through. Babicz hasn't returned any of my emails.

I see the problem now.

I've used many types of bridges but the mounting holes were something I located by setting the bridge in place.

Not having the bridge in-hand...that's a problem. Sorry I can't help you.

I would think since the Babitz (if it's the FCH - Fixed 6 Hardtail, Original Series) is a string-through it would be made to fit as a replacement too...so maybe it is 7.37" for the mounting holes and 7.69" (from neck pocket) for the string-through but I don't like guessing.

I estimated by using the string holes, like you suggested, and adjusted based on where the holes would be for a 6-hole trem unit. Then I measured 25.25 inches and placed the bridge that way. I'm hoping this is good enough because the Babicz is all crickets.

I'm not sure what you mean with the 25.25 but .250 is enough that things can sure go south.
It would be easy to not have enough adjustment to set the intonation on the 6th string with the scale-length set to 25.25 measuring to 1st string saddle IF that is the measurement you are referring to. ( excuse me if you weren't directing this post to me)
If I were going to take a shot with "hope" I'd go with 25.375"...FWIW.

No, StewMac says to put a standard Trem bridge with the 6 mounting holes located at 25.25" from the nut. I estimated a distance from there to the string holes and placed the flat-mount accordingly.
