here we go again guys! No2 will be a through neck chambered with f-holes. Mahogany neck and back with maple top and rosewood board.

Got the neck started already.

The only thing I'm not sure on is how thin I can go with the back and sides with the chambering to keep it strong enough? I'd like as big an internal volume as I can to get as much acoustic volume from it as I can. Is 10mm enough, can I go to 5? I realise at the jack socket and strap buttons I will need to leave some more material but around the waist etc what's the kind of minimum thickness?

Thanks Dan, this one took me ages to design. I've no interest in making a clone and would rather design and build my own but it's hard to come up with something new that still looks good. Want to keep learning and pushing myself too since the first was so successful. Inlays are the big new thing this time plus I am going to use Purple Heart, Maple and mahogany in layers for the wings which need to be cambered and the top thicknessed under the carve for f-hole depth so a few new things again.

Got a few new toys for this one which should see it finished much faster. Bandsaw planer/thickneser and pillar drill. My spare bedroom really is starting to look good tho lol.

This is the maple top. Bout an inch thick.

10m is good. Maybe down to. 7 if the wood is strong
Your maple Need to only be about 12 mm at the highest point. And the wings were the F holes will be should finish around 0.20 inch.

I'm assuming you're making an arched top like a Les Paul. In that case your neck angle should be around 4 to 5°

Thanks Ken i really like your work, always amazing and the semi acoustic archtops are where I'd like to get to in the future. 10mm it is.

Yep it's a les Paul bridge so neck angle of 4deg. Making the templates just now but I have next week off work so I intend to get lots done.
