Post subject:  20th Fret width

Hi, hello, I need help about my 20th fret width
I'm building 34" bass with Precision Bass pickup neck through body, 80%done, but, when I measured nut width 42mm and oops_sign 20th fret width just 52mm (heel) idunno duh
What you think? about 20th fret width just 52mm, is that too narrow? what should I do?
I need your suggestion, thank you so much

Have you glued the neck to the wings yet? You're in better shape than I was on my last bass. Messed up with a router and had to cut out the wings and cut off the FB to get the truss rod out. Made a new neck and did it right the second time. Learned to fasten down a neck template a little better, LOL.

You might split it down the middle and add a 10+mm accent strip. Purpleheart looks cool in a maple neck. Or walnut, mahogany, etc. You will probably have to add a bit more after you get thru sanding, joining, etc.

Neck cut out.

Finishing with new neck.
