Well, I reckon I may be the only one that liked playing those flat ultra low frets.
I'd like to try to recreate them on a new build.
The only way I can think of doing it is to use medium frets and grind them away with a sanding beam.
My fret dressing skills are not top notch, so I'm looking for any advice that may give good results.
I played a LP custom for 20 years and got used to them. I used super light strings and a light touch.
It broke my heart when my ex sold the guitar and I still miss it.
It has been my goal as I learn building to recreate the feel that LP had.
Thanks,
Dan

I refretted one once with mandolin frets, and then really leaned on it when it came time to use the file. Worked great!

Start with a wide but low wire like allparts #LT-0463-000, it has a crown of .106" wide but only .039" tall. a little bit of milling and it should be a really close match to those wide, low , flat crowned frets you are looking for.
