I have a Paulonia bass body I want my daughter to paint a picture on.
She will be using water based acrylic paint.
I'm not sure what to use as sealer and finish coats.
I'm thinking flat spray can primer for the sealer and then wipe on poly for the finish coats.
I'm not looking for a glass finish, just something to protect it.
I'll do some truoil on the Maple neck.
Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks,
Dan
Here's some of her handiwork she did during math class.
I'm sure whatever she paints will be groovy.

yep wipe on poly over WB acrylic will be ok- you are talking WB acrylic i assume
i have shot water based clear lacquer over WB acrylic as well with excellent results
you can also shoot nitro over it but it must be sealed off well as it tends to bleed into the nitro
if you shoot nitro straight onto WB acrylic it will work if you shot a lot of very light coats to start
