Hi all,

I recently had to leave my workshop and in the process of moving my matching wood control cover was lost! ( very angry )

I was wondering if anyone had made a control cover out of bakalite before and if so where can I get some blank material ?

What's wrong with plastic pickguard material?

Bakelite had its heyday before WWII - not a lot of it around anymore.

It just seemed a shame to replace it with plastic, I really like the look of Bakelite pickguards.

Open to any suggestions, I'll probably end up with some kind of metal.

Man, that really blows losing the matching cover.
I'd go with a wood cover even if it is a different species.
I just don't like plastic on guitars.
That is a sweet looking guitar. What wood species did you use?
I'd like to see some more pictures.
