I have a double cutaway body I'm currently working. It only has 3 pot holes and a switch hole. I would like to put in 1 humbucker and 1 single. I'm trying to figure out how I would do 2 tone, 1 volume and 3 way switch or 1 tone, 2 volume and 3 way switch. I can't find any diagrams on the web. If any knows how to do this or has any tips that would be much appreciated. |

Hi Matt, Welcome to the forum. Here's a link with the info you need http://www.guitarelectronics.com/category/wiring_resources_guitar_wiring_diagrams.2_pickup_guitar_wiring_diagrams/. All the diagrams are for two humbuckers but you should be able to figure it out. Steve |

Hi Mathew, I'd start with two volume and one tone, since the single pickup will put out less signal than the humbucker and would be hard to balance with a single volume. You might want to try several options to see what sounds best. You may not like the middle switch position with both pickups on, and you could use the middle position for something else. Hey Dan, I've found that site to be a great resource, they have a pile of diagrams on there so be sure to look around. That and SD are my go to sites for wiring. My current favorite is 1 pick up, 1 volume. |
