I just finished building this for a customer. It is guitar build #14 for me and the first left handed guitar I have made. It is a slight shame that I cannot give this guitar a good playing before shipping it out!

I used Pre-Catalyzed Lacquer for the first time. In the past I have usually used nitrocellulose and I have also used Tru Oil a few times. I enjoyed the 7 day cure time of the pre cat that's for sure. The only negative that I encountered was that the cured pre cat lacquer tends to want to chip out much easier when drilling - for example when you are re drilling tuning key holes, bridge post holes, electronic holes or strap button holes. I think that this is because pre cat lacquer hardens tougher and less flexible and this leaves it more prone to chipping.

The guitar has a 7.25" vintage fender fingerboard radius with 21 frets. It is a full neck through body design and I tried to all but eliminate a neck heel as to allow full access to all frets. The neck and center block are one solid piece of cherrywood. The wings are mahogany and the top wood is also cherrywood. Custom aluminum pickguard, truss rod cover and tremolo cover. On/off mini switches for each pickup.

Thank you. It is some stewmac colortone opaque white mixed with a pre cat lacquer.

Thanks man.

It is a Gotoh Tremolo. The metal plate is mostly decorative. Though it also acts to protect the finish - the only thing that holds this gotoh bridge against the two posts is string tension. When all strings are removed the bridge will rest against the guitar surface. I also liked the idea of adding more mass and structure to the bridge area for tone/sustain reasons.
