My son told me he wants a Fender Jazzmaster. I asked why and he said he likes the shape of the body. So now I'm out to build one but without the crappy bridge/whammy sustain killing mechanism. It's gonna be cool but I'm trying to find information on the neck. I'd save alot of time if I could buy a neck instead of making it. My question is can a Strat neck be used? I don't see why not. I'll be making the body from scratch and the neck pocket will be whatever I want plus Strat necks are alot more plentiful, therefore cheaper, than Jazzmaster necks. Thanks for any opinions.

It could but it does have a slightly different head stock shape.

Thank you, I've looked at pictures and I thought it looked a little different but close enough. It's mainly the body shape he liked. Now all's I have to do is see if he wants it to sound like a strat, tele, or LP.

Yeah, I thought they were but it doesn't really matter since I can slap the bridge wherever I need to. I'd like to us a 25 inch scale length but haven't found any necks that are set up like that and I don't really have time to make the fretboard. Thanks for your help.
