I want to build a 24 fret baritone electric guitar for my son. I've some cadd experience but have no understanding of the distance relationships of the nut-string length-bridge position-fret at body joints. I'm also considering a neck through design. There is a fellow selling plans for one on Ebay at $5.00 or so. Are there any other plans available. I am also looking for wiring diagrams for this guitar. I did work with Auggie LoPrinzi, (acoustics), both part time and full time for about 2 years worth some 32 years ago. |

you don't need a "plan"....the best "plan" is having another electric guitar around that you can study, and borrow the ideas and measurements that you like from it, and create the rest how you want it. you can bolt a neck on to virtually anything at all, why paint by numbers? regarding wiring, consider low output/single coil pickups. high output pickups tend to sound like undefined mud with thicker strings and lower frequency sounds |

I'm designing a neck through building process at the moment using cad/cam/cnc. It'll be a 24 fret using Lace Drop N Gains. I'm building three guitars with 24.6", 25.5", and 27" (baritone) scales. If you ask a specific question I can probably answer. I don't know of any online plans. I design my stuff from scratch. |

Quote: I've some cadd experience but have no understanding of the distance relationships of the nut-string length-bridge position-fret at body joints. It's mostly math. It's called the rule of 18. Put your neck/body joint somewhere close to the middle. http://liutaiomottola.com/formulae/fret.htm |
