It could be routed as you suggest. If the builder had a mini milling machine that would get the job done quickly. I have made similar neck joints using my mini mill. It is one of my most favored power tools. There are probably many ways to do this, so the best way to find the answer is to ask the maker. |

I'd say route from underneath like you suggest then chisel out the one inside corner that's rounded because of the router bit. Kevin Looker |

The tenon was cut first, with any number of different saws...take your pick and then the extension was planted added on at about the 18~19...now that may just be a pencil mark, if so ...any one of the above answers would do it including a chisel. blessings ?adma |
