My boss brought me this guitar with a broken headstock. I've fixed (hopefully) the break but their is something weird going on with the rosette. There was a clear sticky substance that ran out of the rosette and across the top of the guitar. It's consistancy was similar to badly mixed epoxy that never set. I cleaned it off with acetone but the rosette remains sticky no matter what I put on it. I've tried thinner, spirits, acetone with no success. This is a 12 string 25th anniversary model and the rosette is just stuck to the top. It's not recessed like every other guitar I've ever seen. I did the research and it is stock. Please let me know if you've run across this. I think it got very hot and some kind of reaction occured. It was actually stuck to the case. Thanks |

I believe this belongs in the acoustic forums. Sounds like you'll have to replace the rosette. |
