Anyone ever used this product on your guitar? I am using tru oil for the entire guitar except for the headstock, which I intended to use lacquer on so as to set my decal under the surface. I thought I had ordered a can of lacquer, but I got this stuff instead. Thinking about giving it a go. Any experience with it? Do additional layers "melt" together like lacquer does? Does it flat sand well? |

Don't know about this product, but Deft lacquer in a spray can is available at Home Depot and Lowes (at least here in Texas). You may want to give them a look. |

That was what I thought I ordered when I placed a good sized order from Klingspor. Got this instead. Don't necessarily care if my headstock has lacquer or this stuff on it. I'm sure it will look very similar. The only thing I'm concerned about is whether it will flat sand ok without having so called "witness" lines between coats. |

Picked up an inexpensive can of Ace Hardware lacquer to use instead. I'll try some water based stuff someday. But today is not that day. |

I bought a can of Minwax black "lacquer". It was not compatible with the clear Deft I used. The Minwax was acrylic-based and never hardened. Luckily I ran a test before spraying the guitar. I'd do a test squirt on some scrap. |

I just had a can of Deft waterbased stuff around that I was debating using - but in the end decided to get some good old real lacquer. I'm spraying a headstock and using tru oil on the rest of the guitar. The only thing on the headstock is dye that is rubbed into the bare wood. |
