Correction - "up" bow
I just received a 17" SM Martin-style truss rod.
The aluminum channel is not straight, but already has some up bow in it - maybe .03"-.05" at the center.
The nut is loose. Is this bow normal?
Should I try to straighten it before installation?
Thanks,
Dan

Is this "up-bow" as defined with the open side of the channel being up? I've never had a problem with one of those, but try this. Put just a little bit of tension on that adjuster................does the bow disappear? If not, send it back ;)

Nope, it's the closed side of the channel that is bowed up (sorry if I mixed up the terms).
I installed it in a rather stiff neck and then levelled the fretboard. All seems fine.
Thanks,
Dan
