Hello from Texas - already 100 degrees here.
What's a good method to blend a lacquered neck into the sides of a fretboard?
Should I leave the sides of the fretboard unmasked any apply lacquer?
I'm using one of those bland Indian Rosewood boards; I'm not sure it will take lacquer.
Thanks,
Dan

I think most sand/smooth the neck shape right into the f'bd edge, then mask the finger board surface just back from the edge and seal and lacquer the neck & f'bd edge as one.

This is how I do it.

I tape off just the playing surface of the fingerboard and let the lacquer cover the fretboard sides as well as the fret ends. I use a razor blade to trim the tape nice and flush with the edge. After curing I use a file to redefine the 45 degree angle and bevel of the frets. This removes the lacquer from the tape nicely blends with the wood. The tape can then be removed.

Thanks, Irving.
That sound's like a great way to do it.
