Does anyone have a line on custom guitar case builders? Not asking anyone to "Google" it for me, I'm pretty sure I know how to do that - was wondering if anyone here in the US has someone you have worked with before that makes custom cases who does quality work - any links would be appreciated! Thanks |

Have you tried google? Ha ha...okay, sorry. I was looking for some myself just a few minutes ago. I really don't want half my cost to be a case. |

What you can do, if you want to keep costs down, is buy a universal case like this one http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessor ... D=26046412 Buy some styrofoam sheets cut out your design in them, use contact cement as the glue to hold sheets together http://www.allworldpackaging.com/produc ... &do=detail Get some crushed velvet http://www.fabric.com/home-decor-fabric ... -plum.aspx Use some upholstery adhesive to line it yourself, and voila! Time consuming yes, but for around 150$ you're cranking out your own custom cases. |

Thanks Filippo - I would buy one from GF as long as it fit my axes - the Silver Willow is sort of it's "Own size" then #3 & 4 are actually very thick (LP thick to be exact) - I may end up going to the local Sam Ash and just see if they have something that will fit it - The Dueling Dragons actually fit in a Fender Tweed Case I have... I will see if this one does as well. |

I have had very good luck with Cedar Creek - they have built custom cases for two odd ball 12 strings and a wooden tricone. They have a very complete form with about every measurement you can think of, plus a tracing of your guitar. They are expensive and very long delievery, but worth it. |

I bought a bunch of Ameritage cases which are VERY nice AND inexpensive but they took 20 weeks ro deliver the first order after promising 7 weeks. So....that's the last order too. Check out: www.skbcases.com Look for 3i-4214-OP .... an open design that looks like it could be used for a lot of different guitars. Looks like Guitar Center carried them so I might go see about those. |

That's one heck of a case Stuart - I am going to see if the local store has anything that fits - we do have a Guitar Center in town as well and I can always get one to see how they fit - thanks man! |

http://www.whippingpost.com/collections/cases These aren't so much custom but they are unique and pretty sweet. Granted $825 is pricey but they're cool nonetheless. And I know this is an electric forum. But for something this sweet I couldn't resist |

Been getting mine from Ameritage. They are custom fit to my guitars as I use my own design. The first one took about 12 weeks to get but subsequent orders have been running about 6-8 weeks. They are very nice cases, everyone who even sees them comments on the quality. Yes they are made offshore, in Costa Rica I believe, but it is a global marketplace. After all Ebony and Rosewood don't come from the US either so that doesn't bother me so much. I got a quote from Cedar Creek, they wanted about 25% more and from what I've seen of their cases being used by others, their cases are not as nicely made as the Ameritage ones I am using. The only negative thing I can say about Ameritage is that their customer service could be better, it has been difficult to get the small details of the size and placement of my logo on the cases worked out the way I want and they can be difficult to communicate with in that e-mails can go unanswered. But they always answer the phone. |
