Hey all. I'm in a bit of a bind here. Finishing up a custom Telecaster for a customer and the electronics are buzzing like crazy. I'm using a Superswitch (5 way) for a humbucker in the neck, and stacked Tele bridge pickup. There's signal coming out in all 5 positions, and I hear the tone changing but the buzz is there in all positions, and overpowers the guitar signal. I'm using a wiring diagram that was made for me by a member on TDPRI, and I double checked the connections to make sure I have it accurate to that diagram. Here's what it is:

Anyone know why this wouldn't work? I was supposed to deliver the guitar on Saturday, so obviously I'm really short on time to figure this out. Any help would be HUGELY appreciated!

Just plugged it back in and discovered that when I touch the strings it buzzes louder, and when I touch the output jack the buzz lessens.

Sounds like a grounding problem to me....

Hey Chris,

That's what I think too, but do you have an idea of where the grounding issue might be? I might just desolder all the wires that are currently grounded to the pots, and just redo the connections. There are a lot of wires grounded to the volume pot. Maybe one of them isn't making a solid connection?

Is the wiring earthed to the bridge or tailpiece?

This is the bridge pickup I'm using: http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/e ... e_stack_f/

It should have a grounded plate. I also connected a separate bridge ground. Is it possible that those are interfering with each other?

Crisis averted. Stupid mistake of course. I wired the output jack backwards. I was so busy looking at the control plate, I forgot to recheck the jack.

Thanks for the suggestion Chris!
