thats interesting, your not the only person who compared that guitar to a Carvin...

The effect of what scientifics call "the first based opinion's impression" (also known as the human bug) on the human brain is quite incredible I must say, because if we look closer, both guitars are totally different and the shape is also totally different... :)

Tell me what is similar? The top? :D

Don't have shots of the v.v. nice Amboyna drop top or the flamed redwood billet (or the rosewood and coco neck blanks). Let's not get started on acoustic sets, though, because that gets a bit silly (more quilt sapele! Ziricote! Waterfall bubinga! Macassar! Malaysian blackwood!)

I JUST got this bookmatched set in today, although it's origins are Italian - it's actually "Chicago Style" but made here in Tampa - look at this grain!

The chunks of wood are Braz rosewood I got for real cheap!

Some of those pieces are so quilted they make my teeth hurt. I can't hang with you guys. This is softcore compared to some of the filth you've been posting, but here's a piece of curly spalted maple I'm stashing until my resawing skills are up to snuff.
