Official Luthiers Forum!

I haven't been here long so I'm curious....
Is this place always so boring? Is it just the time of year?

It's fine with me if it's just the way it is year round...I'm only curious and wondering if it ever changes speed.
If it doesn't- is there a forum for luthiers that is more active?

I think this place has plenty of activity.

Truthfully, I think it gets slow sometimes, too. But then, as Alan says: "Blam blam blam..."
I keep checking back for those "blam" periods, and I'm thankful when they occur.

I check in on four forums daily. All seem to be a little slow at the moment, but it won't stay that way for long.

You looked through ALL the forums on this site? If you're still bored look through the archives. Awesome stuff gone on throughout the years.

Ian I've looked at the ones of interest, not all.
I agree that there is a great deal of information that I've
enjoyed learning from that's applicable to my current interest.

It just seems to me to be slow to me.
Maybe it's because a site called "Official Luthiers Forum" and knowing
that there are so many folks building guitars I expected much more
activity.

No big deal....just an observation being questioned.

There's a lot more activity on the acoustic building area than there is here. This is a relatively new area of the forum.
Also, I really think that the development of the Docu-Build section has put a damper on this area.
The reason I say this is that building the electric guitar is much easier to document than the acoustic, which is much more involved. There'd be much more traffic here if there were more builds documented here(like on other forums, such as the Tele Home Depot section of the TDPRI) . But since there is now a forum to document builds in, you don't find them here very often. I have a presentiment that that will be this sub forum's death knell. I hope not.
There is a small sub set of very enthusiastic electric builders here( of which i am one). i wouldn't abandon ship just yet. MHO.

I personally hope it continues too. Amazing talent and
a very nice group.
I also felt that I may be wrong and just overly anxious...
something like Neo being plugged into the training modules.

I posted a sprucecaster build. Did you check that out yet? It's pretty cool! Right now it weighs 2 pounds 11 ounces prior to finishing.
I'm getting ready to start posting neck construction pictures on it.

I sure have been following your thread and looking forward to the bass build.
My second build, was for a 5-string bass...man it was tuff.

Being a guitarist what I didn't like was I had no idea how it should feel.
The only bass I own is a Geddy Lee and the 5-string was a totally different beast.
It may be a long time before I attempt another bass - it did turn out though.
I was very glad he compared it to his Alembic.

I do apologize too. The least I could do is post and let you know how much I enjoy
you sharing the builds.
