Has anyone here played with these? http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Finishing_supplies/Colors,_tints,_and_stains/ColorTone_Liquid_Stains.html?tab=Details#details I just picked up a red, blue and yellow from a friend in exchange for a bridge install/setup. My real question is, do you need to use the whole bottle for a guitar? The instructions say to mix 2 oz (which is the whole bottle) with 2 quarts of water/alcohol. Will the mixture store well if you don't use it all? I was thinking about making a green with the blue and yellow. |

No. These are transtint stains. I mix however many drops per ounce of water needed to give the right intensity and use that for whatever volume I need. A bottle will last you a LONG time. (no shelf life) |
