Lookin good. Is that elmers glue that you using to glue on the fretboard? I've heard of people doing this but I've never seen it.I always thought that it would be practical because it would be no problem to remove the fretboard in the future. If this IS elmers glue, how well does it work for fretboards?

It is a water resistant wood glue, Elmers and Titebond are just brands, there are many other brands out there that are way better as far as I am concerned.

Nice work, that thing turned out great. I have two questions though, is it going to have control knobs? Also, is your shop in a cave? When i was looking at the pics i swear i saw rock walls lol. I bet A cave would make a great shop.

Gotta say, I'm surprised to see so much freehand work. Why not use templates for the body shape, headstock, etc.? Seems like you're making more work for yourself, when you have a consistent design. Is it a preference?

In 2011 some people still take pride of shaping things by hand and have a clear vision of the definition of "handmade" in such that every guitar is not exactly identical to a 1/100th of an inch but are all trully unique with their individual personality.

How boring would it be for me to route a headstock and body shape in order to clone every single time the same guitar, which pride would I take out from doing that?

So yes, it is indeed a personal preference :)

I leave the first coat cure 48 hours...

Then I apply the other coats making sure to leave them dry 24-48 hours in between each other and also sanding in between each coat with 600 grit...

This can last a good week, I want 7 uniform coats...

WOW!!! This is a wonderful idea for a nut! Ive used scrap ebony/rosewood for nuts (and bridges) on cigarbox guitars, but never on a 6 string. I look forward to trying this on my next electric build
