I have an HSH pickguard that I want to configure as follows ... Bridge: Gibson 498T Middle: DiMarzio Injector Bridge Neck: Gibson Burstbucker Pro I'd like to have a standard strat 5 way switch operation, however, I'd like to have both the humbuckers split-able. Is this do-able and how would you go about it? Ideally I'd like to have a single push-pull tone pot that acts as the splitter, however, I'd be fine to have the rear tone pot split the bridge and the forward tone pot split the neck. If someone could point me to a wiring diagram or talk me through it it would be much appreciated. TIA. |

Dig through these. Maybe you'll find something. http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/ |

Now i didn't take the time to go through the diagram to see if it does what it says it will but if it does.... you can do it without the push pulls. but as it says it will auto split in certain positions of the 5 way. So I'm assuming this was your plan for the split anyway... If not you have some research on wiring to do and some diagram drawing to do seeing how i don't think you will find a diagram for your specific needs but 1 push pull can split both pick ups if you need it to. http://www.guitarelectronics.com/produc ... 11-01.html |

Think a bit more out of the box. The usual 5 way has 2 circuits, one on each side with 3 tabs + a tab for the common. Try this, on your 5 way put the full coil HB outputs on one side of the switch and the series links on the other. This way you can separate the commons and turn down the HB full coil side with a pot( I use the extra tone pot ), leaving the split sounds from the other side of the switch. No push pull pots needed. Hope that helps. |

I just wired an HSH ax and ran into some serious problems due to the wiring diagrams, so beware. Since it was a 90`S Yamaha Pacifica with Dimarzio pups I figured that the Dimarzio diagrams would work. Here are the diagrams http://www.dimarzio.com/support/wiring- ... s#1-5-11-4 The problem is that the 5 way switch, 4 pole, 24 tabs (really cool) called EP1112 by Dimarzio was actually some Yamaha switch instead of Dimarzio. This made all the EP 1112 diagrams on the Dimarzio page wrong, all of them! Which ever diagram you use must be akin to the switch, and no Yamaha diagrams could be found! I used this diagram, after spending hours figuring out the Yamaha switch, to pretty cool effects. All humcancelling with coil tap included. http://www.dimarzio.com/sites/default/f ... 1v1t_f.pdf |
