Posting this for a friend of mine.

He's building a guitar with a right-hand reverse headstock. I think I found the answer, but would like verification if I can. Will left hand headstock tuning pegs work on a right-hand reverse headstock neck?

From what I read, in order to keep the orientation of the tuning pegs right, and the wrapping of the string going in the "normal" direction, lefty's are needed.

I know it's possible to use regular tuning pegs but did they line up correctly and did the strings wrap the correct way?

it depends on the machine heads you pick to use... Ive never see true locking machines so idk if they work spinning either way im sure they would and it just locks the gears. i know the grover self locking machines would not work for this seeing how they will only lock in one direction. its a pain because im a lefty and i plan on just building all my head stocks as 3x3s so i can use standard machines haha. If you are using 6 in a line reverse go with 6 in a line lefty machines and you wont have any problems.

Yes Leftys are the correct ones to use for this. [:Y:]
