I am having problems getting a straight cut on my neck. I think I might just be impatient, if this is the case I will need to correct this, but if anyone knows any good tips or trick to use when trying to cut a solid neck blank into an angled neck please let me know. All of the books I have read don't give me any hints. I don't have a workbench, which is probably my first problem since I don't have a table vise but I am trying to make do without. |

What kind of cutting tools do you have? How did you attempt this last cut? |

Looks like an attempt at a peghead scarf joint. Try using a razor knife to cut your lines, then patienly work to the lines with a rasp, then a sanding block. Be very careful though. |

How about getting it close with a saw, and then truing it up with a plane?? Stack the short piece on top of the long piece so the angle lines up and go to town. Check frequently with a straight edge. |
