Hello all! I am new to the forum and very new to guitar building. I am working on a bolt-on body out of ash, and a neck-through out of poplar and oak. They are both my own body design and I can post pics of them if anyone cares to take a look. Now to my question.... I am planing out a third build and have been toying around with the idea of building a baritone. I have a LARGE hunk of hard maple and a small amount of purpleheart to make another neck-through, and I was going to make it into a baritone. My problem is that I am not comfortable enough with fretwork yet to slot my own board, so I have been buying the Fender scale boards from Stew Mac. Is there anyone who sells the 28 5/8" scale boards preslotted? I found the bass scale (34") boards but that is way too much. Any advice on this would be appreciated! Matt Mirando |

Cutting a 34" bass board at the 3rd fret will give you roughly 28 1/2" scale if I remember correctly and give you 21 frets with a pre-slotted board. |
