Will do..... This was a Grizzly kit. I changed the pickups to GFS noiseless ones (very quiet and great sound). I used the volume pot from the kit and got a gibson style 3 way switch and stuck it on the diamond plate control plate as well.....no tone knob. I made the aluminum diamond plate from some stock I got at home depot. I will probably not do this again unless requested because the finish is very easy to scratch and trying to get those out between the diamonds is a real pain!! The finish is duplicolor rattle can primer, creatx color coats with a marblized finish, and top coat is target EM6000. There were a few issues with the parts out of the box but with a little tweaking they turned out ok. I will have another oppertunity to do it again as the wife got me another kit for father day! |

Matthew: Nice job on the Tele. Awesome paint job. Can you post a link or info about the 3-way Gibson switch you used? I'm in the process of building a Tele and have really no room to put the traditional 2 knobs and switch. I was trying to figure out a way to do what you've done in that respect. Thanks for showing how it can be done. |

This is the one I used..... http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics ... witch.html I had to turn it so the act of switching is across the lower bout.....not bridge to nut type of movement.....this was due to the standard tele control cavity has limited room and I could not do it that way. It still works ok but I still would have liked to be able to use it nut to bridge type of movement instead of across the guitar. Thanks for the comments. |
