Breathtaking. I had to scrape my jaw off the floor more than once....dang, there it goes again. Your client is lucky he's a lefty, otherwise I'd try to convince you to sell it to me.

I have a neck through build currently on hold that has a center strip of mac ebony in the neck. After routing out the truss rod channel, I was disappointed to realize that I had cleared out a big chunk of the most expensive wood I was using. But a center strip of ebony sure does look good.

Really incredible work. Well done! I can't wait to see the finished product.

Well...I'm drooling.

What are those three white sacks near the bridge in the photo where todd has his "fingers in this project"?

Also....do I have your permission to borrow that magnet idea? I planned to use a small magnet to hold the truss rod cover in place but I never even thought of it for the backplate. Funny.

nice woods there, yup!
just want to correct you on one thing though, ;) ,
it's not a hollow body, but a "chambered" guitar.

Ah, a return to the age old question: hollow, semi-hollow, vs. chambered. Since there's mention of a sound hole, it's a step past chambered. I'd call this one semi-hollow. But I reserve the term "hollow body" mainly for big jazz boxes, so who knows?

Stuart, I believe those bags sitting on the PRS are just weights. Looks like they say some number and "lb" on the side.

Gotta say, I'm blown away all over again just looking at these pictures. I have a sudden craving for some Black Limba. Filippo, what are the working properties of the wood?

dang. I'm a bit speechless - woodgasm is a good word for it! I saw the templates over at Todds but good lawd! I hope I get to see it in person at some point. The fingerboard is real cool.

What are the carbon fiber strands about? I can't figure out what exactly I'm looking at in that picture.

Where are you getting that fiber laminate material in the neck, Flippo? Does it have a more specific name than "fiber board"? I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what that material is.....and I need some :)

That guitar is turning out beautifully......keep on with the pictures!!

Man, looking great!

Very nice execution on bindings! I imagine all of that work is why many of us electric builders use the faux binding :)

Also, P-90's (provided they are a descently manufactured set) really are an understated pickup...I think they are a great choice for this piece, which is already quite unique. The P-90's are a great choice to top it all off.

You have a photo of the neck laminates prior to gluing sitting on a table next to the glue bottles...with the caption, "Will be one strong neck with T-88 epoxy. 0.020" Black fiber between the Limba and Cocobolo...

That fiber might help me with a glue line problem I'm having but I don't really know what the material is or where to find it.

I'm planning a baritone tele-inspired with a macassar ebony drop top... I planned to do a mahog body.. but now, I have to say that black limba would be amazing under macassar ebony..!

The next project isn't a perso design, it will be an engelmann spruce/ziricote soprano ukulele... for christmas, so I'd better start soon... :D

Filippo a big +1 on the waiting on him......your guitar is just about the same way!
