This is my first attempt at a body. It's actually for my son. He had a Fender P-bass and the body got broke.
I bought some Honduran Mahogany here are the sizes
26-1/2" x 6-1/8" x 1-3/4" and 26-1/2" x 9-7/8" x 1-3/4"
I have a tendency to over think things. So here are my questions.
Do I leave the wood alone and just glue the one piece to the other.
Or do I split one and put the pieces on the sides of the other one. If I do this which piece do I split?

I plan on putting a top on it I have the redwood burl already. Would using a tung oil finish on the body be enough? Or should I use an epoxy coating? Or Both?

Thank you for any and all help

Chris

I was under the Impression that I didnt want the glue center lined. That you wanted a piece of solid wood for the neck to bolt to? Am I wrong in this thinking?

Also I think I should mention I'm not making a "replacement" body. The shape is inspired by Ed Roman's "Pagan" body

here's a picture
