Hi guys, I know I don't get on here much----well, hardly ever really---but I could do with a bit of help.

I've just made a Lapsteel and I can't find a wiring diagram for what I want to do. I've tried the normal sites, like Seymour Duncan etc.

It's got a single neck, Humbuck bridge, 1 vol, 2 tones, 3 way toggle switch.

I'm not splitting the HB, so it's basically fairly simple. I thought each Pup to it's own Tone, then to Vol, through the 3 way switch?? Open to suggestions though.

Cheers.

Stevie - I am not clear on the setup you have but is seems like you wan the 3-way before the volume.

As Eddie says, if you're having a master volume, you'll need to have this after the switch. You can either take the pickup hot leads to the tone controls then to the switch, or take them straight to the switch and take the tone controls off the switch terminals. As long as the tone controls come before the switch and the volume comes after it, you'll have individual tone controls for the pickups and a master volume.
Cheers,
Bri

Thanks guys,
Looking at what I wrote again, I put it all the wrong way round
Anyway, sorted now, I found a diagram at last.
Fun and games though------I wired it all in, and there was a humming buzz, fiddled about with it for hours, couldn't solve it. So I took it all apart again, and to test each component wired it as a single with just 1 volume, checked, double checked, then checked another 4 or 5 times, changed the lead, tried a different Amp-----STILL THERE!!!!! Going not so slowly crazy by now gaah . Fixed it though------I turned the soldering iron off!!!!!!!!!! bliss

Stevie,

Check that you yave a really good ground from the bridge to the electronics. You need a good clean connection to the bride with the ground wire.

Good luck,
