Hello OLF members, As you can see I am a new member here. I have been lurking here for awhile now. So I just wanted to introduce myself before I started fireing off questions for you all. I used to play bass 20 plus years ago. And a little bit of guitar. Then I stopped after I severely injured my index fingertip. (I never used a pick for bass and found it kinda hard to strum the strings of a bass with a fingertip that is ubersensitive. I never felt comfortable using a pick) So I gave up the idea of playing bass forever. So now it is 20 something years later and I am picking up the guitar again. Starting from basically scratch all over again I have found I can now use a pick with no problems this time around. So now I'm interested in music all over again. I currently have a MIM Fender strat that I have been modifying a little. I bought it specifiacally to Mod. I also have a Squire Strat that I have modified and I found an old Les Paul copy that has been hiding in my closet for over 24 years. I have recently tore the LP down to its basic components. It is a bolt on neck so I removed that, and everything else including all the electronics. The wireing was a joke. Some joints were not even soldered. Just wrapped in hopes that they would stay put. In tearing my guitars down I have become interested in creating a guitar from scratch. This is something I wanted to do 20 years ago but could not offord to attempt at that time. So now the time is right and I am here in search of a place to learn. I am basically in the research phase of the projects and look forward to learning all I can from you all in the future! |
