Hello all,

I am planning on putting a jazz neck pickup on my pbass and was trying to find router depth dimensions. I can handle a router fine. Also, will a jazz bass pickguard circuit fit on a pbass? I may just try to come up with my own config. depending how much room I can figure on how to use. What configs do others like? Thanks.

I have a set of Bartolini J pickups and they are 0.85" tall - but the answer to your question depends on how high your strings are off the body surface. Which depends on what kind of bridge you have, and how high off the body surface your fretboard is (to the fret tops).

A good rule of thumb is that when you depress the outer strings at the highest fret (closest to the bridge), the top of the pickup should be ~1/8" from the bottom of the string. Then do the math from there.
