Well, Duh! You just gotta make it the same colour as a real Marlin! Try and get some of that iridescence, too. |

A nice transparent blueburst, same color varying density, would be good. |

Chris, Such a subjective question. I see a Black Burst with Deep Trans Red in the fields. some Black sand back first though just to pop the grain. Gold hardware would look nice with it. Mike |

Actually, that looks pretty cool. If you've ever looked at the ocean from above, it looks alot like that, with variations of colors and shades. MHO. |

Chris, That's where shellac comes in handy for maple. Washcoat to stop blotching and then use it with your dye to control the color. I know you have heard me preach it, sometime you might try it. Otherwise I think your choice is nice and REALLY it looks very nice as is and with some toners will be very controllable. Good luck my friend, Mike |

Chris, it looks great. The one ocean burst I did took me 4 or 5 tries to get right. I like to mix some shellac in with the dye coats though. Makes it a lot easier for me. |

I thought it looked really nice, but understand why you had to sand it back. I can't wait to see the end result. |

That looks good. Sanding it back and redoing it really added some depth. That is going to look sharp when you get it buffed out. Good job! |
