Or the standard style pickguard:

The body will be Sherwood Green and the pickguard will be vintage style red tortoise.......

Second one. Covers up less wood.

I like either of them so I'm no help. Also the guitar likely would look even cooler if the fret board was not blue.... :D

She looks great and I wanted to ask what the pups are?

#2 .... I like to see more of the wood too.

Keep in mind the wood is going to be covered with a solid dark green color, and the pickguard will be an interesting contrast of super blotchy vintage style red tortoise style pickguard material.......

My initial favourite was number 2 but now you mention the colours it makes it a trickier decision.
I'd do the best Photoshop mockups I could if I were doing it!

It also depends on what you plan to do with the guitar. If it's yours, then you could do either of these shapes or create a new one. If you intend to sell it, then I think most potential buyers (with some exceptions) would expect to see the traditional shape. If you have some photo editing software, you could place the colors that you intend to use on the guitar and the two pick guard shapes and test it that way.

I suck at photoshop.
The guy I'm building it for has picked option 1, the bigger guard.
I kinda like option 1 a LITTLE more than 2. Then again, I'm far from a traditionalist.
I like both options too though.
