Inlay day in the shop , got the crushed stone in the big holes ( a LOT more work than anticipated) and a quilted maple center strip trimmed with paua abalone.

put on the shellac sealer coats ( it took 7 , buckeye is like a sponge ! ) and the first lacquer coat , took a few tries to get the right shade of blue that didn't bury the figure, but worth the effort..
