Hey folks - do you think that hawthorn could be used to build a neck? from what I can tell its very hard and very fine-grained. this MAY be a newb question, but I haven't really made any progress building in a long time and i am quite behind on my wood-ology. any thoughts?

If you can find a specimen that's large enough without tons of knots or cracks I think it would work fine. Do you have some already? It's a small shrub so large enough pieces might be rare. A few sources online say it's pretty hard though.
