Hello everyone (s
Picked up my cheapie old strat copy today and plugged her in
i never bothered with it much as the tuners are useless and left it hangin on the stand
that was years ago way before i had any guitar tools /expierence
ive gotten way better now on the guitar aswell jammin some acdc tunes(insert cheesey bendy guitar moment whraahhhh)

Anyway im too busy yet to build an electric as im makin tools/jigs for acoustics and such
but i want to sort this guitar for out for the time being

Ive looked in the archives for a stratocaster tute but i got no results

Does anyone have an article handy on fixin up a strat copy , Making a strat copy,
or setting up a strat copy ?

Thanks everyone for your knowledge again
tomas

Hi again i found a basic setup guide for the action and relief on fenders website
it stated different action heights for different f/b radius profiles
it gave me figures for relief
and mentioned very breifly putting a shim in the neck pocket or if you have a certain model
how to adjust a bolt that changed angle tilt [xx(]

I suppose I should ask whos fender strat is set up the best for hard rock/blues music beehive

But what i really need to know is what height the neck protrudes out of the pocket from the body

(i could ask for the depth of the pocket but i have a feeling that the fretboard is a bit skimpy)

And what height your bridge should be set at
It would make fitting a shim easier
im guessing a plug and redrill is in order too
thanks again
tomas

Neck thickness is typical 1.0" @ heel.
Pocket about .625" deep.
Fretwire bead will sometimes determine the shim thickness if any is needed.
