Well,

I have finally bitten the bullet and decided to have Tony finish some of my basses. I just had a daughter and don't want to be spraying in a makeshift spray booth anymore!

Anyway, Tony's work is beyond superb and I wanted to show you my most recent update from him.

There is an macacauba bolt -on double, and a flamed redwood on white walnut singlecut (this bass weighs next to nothing)

Thanks
Stephen

Shad,

It is pretty easy. If you look on my blog - back a couple of posts, you should be able to find enough pictures of how to do it. It is essentially a 4 in tenon and mortise into a body - then carved to my liking, using an alternate decorative wood to create the visual effects in the geometry of the carve. Nothing really special.

Stephen

The strips of wood in the neck shown are Wamara rosewood, or that is one of the ways it is marketed.

Wamara? Never heard... Is it one of the 400 awesome Guyana woods? lol

Anyways, the 3 tones or brown with the creamy color of the neck... Beautiful.

I am hoping to have these finished inside of this week.

Enjoy!

Those things sure look comfy. Awesome designs! The finish on those also made me start craving fresh candy...
