So...
Something I was reading in one of the other posts has been bugging me and I wanted to get a perspective on opinions.

I read one comment that ebony was a poor choice for bridge material for a nylon string guitar - the argument being that it's properties make it dampen too much sound for a "low tension" system like a classical guitar. True?

If so, that leads me to think that it would also apply to a steel string, if not as much. All other things being equal, will a rosewood bridge create a more responsive, louder guitar than an ebony bridge??

I like rosewood bridges, but mostly the heavier RWs. Assuming the unattainable "all else being equal", it seems I get more volume, a bit more on the attack, maybe less bass, maybe less sustain. Depends on what you want, I suppose. Building an OM now for a client who wants the qualities of an ebony bridge, so that's what he's getting. I could get what he wants other ways, but I'll go with ebony.
