I've fretted my board(ebony) and filed the end of the frets flush. I need to fill the open slot ends. What's the best way to go- black CA or CA and ebony dust? Also could someone give me a brief run down of the procedure for using CA and wood dust to fill the slot ends?

Also while I'm thinking of it... I have to glue a strip of wood on top of the truss rod so it will sit flush in the neck channel. Is it ok to use spruce and glue it with CA glue? I know some have used maple but I don't know if it matters.

I use acrylic paint to fill the end slots. I put the paint in a serynge and use a very fine needle. I let the paint dry overnight and sand the next day. The fun part is that I get to my colors (I usually use rosewood fretboards)...

Jeremy, I just did this last night for a Cocobolo fretboard. I sanded the edges with fine sandpaper (I used 320) or so and thus filled the slots under the frets with fine dust. Then I drop in a tiny amount of thin CA into each slot. Wipe off excess and repeat until the slots are all filled. Might take 3 times or so. What is nice about this is the fill material typically matches the board very nicely and the slots are invisible.

Thanks guys [:Y:] I'll probably try the dust and thin CA technique later today.

I just finished and you were right, the slots are nearly invisible. Thanks again.
