Post subject:  How to make a Pyramid Bridge

Bob Connor recently sent me a beautiful Brazilian Rosewood pyramid bridge to use on my current project that's a size 5 terz guitar. I wanted to be able to replicate this bridge with local hardwoods so set about figuring out how to do it without a CNC mill, so here's my take on how to go about it.

Frank Ford shows an even easier way on his website, frets.com. The one critical tool was one of those 1" vertical belt sanders. Nice tool...

I had a look at the way that Frank built the ivory one but I couldn't figure out how to get the little step around the bottom of the pyramid that I was trying to replicate. I'll try Frank's method for the next one and see how the two methods compare.

I'll add that once I came down with a way to accurately size the pyramid, the whole process goes very quickly.
