I have a 30x60 xzero raptor coming in this week and was wondering what components i may be missing.
So far I have a mx3660 stepper driver 3x numa 23 stepper motors, tekno 2.2kw spindle and vfd. I'm going to order a 48v power supply, I'm thinking of going with the uccnc software and either the UC100 or UC300.
Am I missing any components other than wiring and electronics box? All my cnc experience is with machining centers so I'm not used to putting a system together and the cnc forums are a bit of information overload.

Cable Chains?

Some way to attach the cable chains to the machine?

Prox/hall sensors for homing?

Mounting points for home sensors?

Table?

At this point, you might be best off waiting to get the machine and the buying what you need as you need it. It's difficult but there's probably another dozen or two little things you haven't even thought of yet that you'll need to get things going. You'll be making a lot of trips to the hardware store!

Yes, I got all that from George! You're right I'm sure there will be lots of little things. I just want to make sure I'm not forgetting some major component I'll have to hide the purchase of from my wife. Haha

If you'll be running it a lot, you might want a line reactor to extend the life of the spindle. I think they're in at about $200-ish for 2kW.

oh, that and the Catia/MasterCAM thing will probably set you back another $45k, hopefully that's in your budget laughing6-hehe

Haha, luckily I already have featurecam from work!
I'll look into the line reactor. Never heard of that before.
