I am finishing up a couple of commission builds and want to invest in CNC...I have been looking at building the FLA 100, I was wondering if this machine would be satisfactory for lutherie???

Hello Wes,
Looking at the design, it is based on 8020 extrusions. I built mine years ago using a similar design. You may want to consider making one from scratch as the design they show, in my opinion is a little light. Also they are using acme screws and ball screws would be a better choice. If you would like to get together sometime and look at mine, please PM me for contact info, I live in Farmers Branch and would be more than happy to point you in the right direction.

Mike

Thanks Mike, I will take you up on that offer in the near future, I am interested in building one to meet my needs , which would be for inlays , fretboards and necks along with some other woodworking tasks, I was hoping to keep it in the 2 x 3 size, one reason is room , unless I can convince my better half to park her Lexus outside and give me the other half of the garage, I have limited space with my other tools.
My plan is to start on the project as soon as these builds are delivered which should be in June, and any ideas or pictures of projects from anyone here would be much appreciated....
