Congrats on the new toy Bob! I'm sure you will have fun once you get past the learning curve. CNC machines are lots of fun. I don't run routers so I don't know anything about that machine but I wish you the best of luck with it. Looking at the specs online it looks like a decent little machine.

CAM software? Who needs that! Bob is gonna just write out G code! Haha, just kidding I'm sure he will want to do some fancy surface milling. It looks like it may come with some sort of CAM product. But I may be mistaken.

I've done that in a pinch fer sher!

I do it everyday. Most of the stuff I do, I can write the code quicker than I can go and turn on the computer and draw the thing. But I'm mostly cleaning up surfaces and punching holes in castings. When it comes to 3D surfaces you gotta use CAM. Unless you want to do math for a week!

Currently trying to figure out how to write the codes for a double push on the newly acquired bar feeder

Andy we bought Rhino 5 and Madcam 4.3 Comes with WinCNC controller, PC and 19" monitor. I believe V-Carve is also included.
Set up for 3 phase power

Hmmmm not a bad price on the madcam. Seems like some good features. And 4 axis capable, as is the machine you have....... Maybe a 4th axis planned for the future? Anyhow best of luck I know the anticipation of the machine arriving must be killing you. I know I get excite when a new machine is on the way. Maybe between now and when the machine arrives you can draw up a bunch of cool parts and be ready to cut when it arrives

I've had very good luck with madcam 4.3. 5 seems to be even better (even though it's still in beta). With a 4.3 license, you can download 5 and use your existing license key. It will run 64 bit too where 4.3 is strictly 32 bit. I hit a few little glitches in earlier beta versions, but after alerting the madcam team, they were quickly resolved.
