Several weeks ago I posted some pics of one of my guitars without paint. I since got it painted. Here it is: Attachment: AW5-5-(8)G.JPG Attachment: AW5-5-(9)G.JPG Attachment: AW5-5-(10)G.JPG Attachment: Aw5-5-(6)g.jpg Just for grins, here's a photo before it was painted: Attachment: AW5 - Prepaint (1).JPG All comments, critiques, questions welcome. VERY original, good work! You have taken 3D contouring with a CNC and a guitar, to the next level! I particularly like how the bridge on top, is positioned higher above the guitar body... |

This really looks like a result of 'needs first' design, and really shows off the value of the method. You stick everything that NEEDS to be a certain way into the drawing first (neck, pickups, strap pin, jack, hang the bridge in space at the right spot) and then you've got absolute freedom with the rest and you know it'll work. The biggest untapped benefit of CNC is that guys use it to replace grunt work (which is great) without ever thinking "hey, waitaminute...what would I make if I had infinite dexterity and coordination?". I love seeing what comes out of that question! |
