Will something like an epilog laser machine cut regular thin pearl for inlay? If not what is the best small cnc machine for cutting pearl for inlaying?, perferably one that is enclosed. thanks |

It will cut it but it burns the edges and causes it to powder about 1/32-3/64 of an inch at the cut edge so for precise edge cutting no Use water jet, CNC or good old jewelers saw. |

Depends on what you mean by 'best'. If price is the determining factor, the K2CNC stuff can be adapted to your needs. |

Hard to beat the Haas Office Mill for that kind of work. It'll fit through a standard 36" doorway, has a toolchanger, coolant pump, comes standard with a 50,000 rpm spindle, and is dirt cheap (relatively speaking). |
