Haas Not sure how new but first time I've seen it. This type of machine bridges the gap between light weight table routers and the Haas/Fadal type vertical machining centers. The 24K rpm spindle would handle a lot of wood machining jobs and the tool changer would be icing on the cake. I want one! <g) (Don't really need another router) Nelson

Looks like a pretty nice setup, although a look at Haas' site makes me a bit wary. The positional accuracy is +- 5 thou which seems pretty high to me, and they don't mention the repeatability at all. That high-speed spindle seems pretty sweet compared to my 10K, though. I bet it could really rip through production stuff in softer materials.

The cnc routers I have seen have pretty good accuracy at low feed rates, but when you ramp them up they start taking shortcuts. I would bet you could run that thing at least a couple hundred IPM before you'd experience too much deterioration. Unless you were doing some serious production, you probably wouldn't need to run faster than that. That looks like a good deal though...especially for a machine complete with an ATC.

Probably using rack and pinion for the X and Y although some accuracy can be achieved with a preloaded pinion/rack.
