I was given this resonator as a gift for repair. It needed a neck reset, new fingerboard, tail piece and rim crack repairs. I assume this fingerboard is more blingy than the original. Based on the story that came with it, I think it is a '50s Regal (picture below). The top of the headstock has z485 stamped on it, and the dove tail has a red ink stamp that says either z80 or 280. Does anyone know if the age and maker is right, or know where I can go to confirm the maker and age?
Thanks, GS

I don't think that it is a Regal, and certainly not one from the 1950's as they were out of business of making resonators after 1941 and until the 1960's when the name was sold. I think the body shape is wrong for a 14 fret Regal, which got the space for the two extra frets by smalling up the upper bout of the body. The shape, size and location of the F holes is also wrong for a Regal 14 fret F hole guitar (I have a 1936 Model 25 Regal made Dobro, so I hauled it out of the case and compared to your picture). It might be a Harmony.
